Company Overview

Hamilton Medical was founded in 1983 with a clear mission: to enhance the lives of patients on respirators and support the caregivers who serve them. Our focus is on developing ventilation technologies that prioritize safety, effectiveness, and lung protection. We are dedicated to easing the burden on healthcare professionals who work tirelessly every day, helping critically ill patients recover and regain their health. We are committed to helping medical teams deliver the best respiratory care ‑ to anyone, anywhere.

Responsibilities

The National Acute Care Director is a key leadership role within the Hamilton Medical U.S. commercial organization. The National Acute Care Director is responsible for the national execution of Hamilton Medical's Acute Care sales strategy across the United States. This role leads and aligns the five Regional Sales Directors and partners closely with National and Global Clinical Operations, Service, Marketing, Strategic Accounts, and other functions to drive revenue growth, market penetration, customer adoption, and consistent field execution.

The National Acute Care Director translates the strategic direction established by the VP of Sales into a coordinated national operating plan, establishes accountability for regional performance, and ensures that sales and clinical resources are effectively deployed against U.S. Acute Care priorities. The role is focused on national commercial execution and field leadership, while the VP of Sales retains overall commercial strategy, organizational design, enterprise priorities, and broader U.S. and international commercial responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead national execution of the U.S. Acute Care sales strategy and deliver annual revenue, market penetration, and customer growth objectives.
  • Directly lead, coach, and develop the five Regional Sales Directors, establishing clear performance expectations, operating cadence, and accountability across all U.S. Acute Care regions.
  • Translate national sales objectives into regional priorities, execution plans, pipeline requirements, and measurable actions.
  • Own the national sales operating rhythm, including business reviews, forecasting, pipeline management, CRM discipline, performance reporting, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure consistent application of sales processes, tools, standards, and best practices across all Acute Care regions.
  • Monitor regional performance against revenue budgets, quotas, pipeline, conversion, customer retention, and other key commercial metrics; identify risks and drive timely corrective action.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Directors to optimize territory coverage, account assignments, sales resources, and market opportunities.
  • Provide national leadership for major Acute Care product launches, promotions, competitive initiatives, and market development programs, ensuring consistent field execution.
  • Oversee national coordination of Clinical Application resources in partnership with Clinical Operations, including customer evaluations, education, product adoption, and clinical support priorities.
  • Ensure Sales and Clinical Application teams are aligned around account strategy, opportunity development, product adoption, and customer success.
  • Partner with Service leadership to address significant customer needs, strengthen customer relationships, and support commercial opportunities involving service agreements and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Strategic Accounts, Digital Solutions, Business Development, and other functions to translate national priorities into effective field programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and healthcare decision-makers and participate in executive-level customer engagements when appropriate.
  • Aggregate and communicate market, customer, competitive, and field intelligence to inform national commercial priorities and broader company strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales productivity, organizational effectiveness, customer experience, and market penetration across the U.S. Acute Care business.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, coach, and develop Regional Sales Directors; support succession planning and development of future sales leaders.
  • Promote a high-performance culture characterized by accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and disciplined execution.
  • Represent the U.S. Acute Care organization in cross-functional and leadership forums and provide regular updates to the VP of Sales on performance, risks, opportunities, and resource needs.

Scope of Leadership

The National Acute Care Director has direct leadership responsibility for the five U.S. Regional Sales Directors. Through these leaders, the role provides national direction and alignment across the Acute Care field organization and coordinates closely with National Clinical Operations Director. The role is accountable for execution within U.S. Acute Care; it does not replace the VP of Sales' responsibility for overall commercial strategy, broader business-unit leadership, organizational design, or enterprise-level decisions.
